style=\"Font-size:26px;\">Surgery with phakic lens implant<\/h2>\n&nbsp;\n\n<p>The implantation of a phakic lens (usually posterior chamber, ICL\u00ae type), arises as an alternative to the excimer laser, for those patients &#8211; of non-presbyopic age &#8211; who, due to the characteristics of their eye, cannot be operated with this technique. Primarily indicated for patients of presbyopic age (and even younger or pre-presbyopic, in specific cases) who may not be optimal candidates for laser treatment.\n\n&nbsp;\n\nIt consists of undoing and removing the crystalline lens from inside the eyeball, by means of ultrasound (phacoemulsification), and replacing it with an artificial one.
