The origins of Clínica Dr Tirado
Antonio Tirado Carmona was born in Fuengirola in 1966, son of Antonio Tirado Jaime (Fuengirola ATS) and María Josefa Carmona Martín (local ATS and midwife). He studied at the Ecos School in Marbella.

When he was only 17 years old, he obtained a very outstanding grade in his university entrance exams and entered the Faculty of Medicine.

At the age of 23, he finished his medical degree with a great academic record, and began his doctoral studies.

At the age of 25, he again took the MIR exams to try to obtain a position in his true vocation, Ophthalmology, obtaining a high score that allowed him to leave his position in Pneumology and opt for Ophthalmology.

Cum Laudem
At the age of 26, after finishing his military duties, he entered the Hospital Clínico de Málaga, where he specialized in Ophthalmology. Read his doctoral thesis, obtaining the qualification of Cum Laudem.

Costa de Sol Hospital
At the age of 29, after passing his competitive examinations, he obtained a position at the Hospital Costa del Sol in Marbella, where he developed an extensive professional career, being involved in the creation of the Ophthalmology service of the Hospital. In 1997 he began his private practice in Fuengirola, with state-of-the-art facilities and technology in ophthalmology, pioneering the implementation of numerous surgical techniques in the province of Malaga (cataract surgery with phacoemulsification, surgery for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism with excimer laser and Lasik technique, etc.) and developing an intense surgical activity in several hospitals in the province.

Founding of the Ophthalmological Institute of the Costa del Sol
With 40 years, in 2006 he brings together the best specialists in ophthalmology and founds the Instituto Oftalmológico de la Costa del Sol, with new facilities in the Doña Sofia Park in Fuengirola, inaugurating two modern operating rooms specializing in eye surgery, where currently and surrounded by a team of professionals, develops its professional activity, being a leading center in many surgical techniques and reference in Southern Andalucia.
